Product Description

6-Benzylaminopurine (6-BAP) is a broad-spectrum plant growth regulator from the cytokinin class. It plays a key role in stimulating cell division, rejuvenating plants, breaking dormancy, and promoting the formation of lateral shoots and root suckers. 6-BAP enhances chlorophyll synthesis and photosynthesis, making leaves darker, greener, and stronger.

When applied as a foliar spray to green fruits or berries, 6-BAP can slightly delay ripening in favor of increased size and weight. It helps plants recover from stress caused by cold, prolonged rain, or poor soil conditions, and can even enhance immunity during unfavorable weather. After treatment, a temporary increase in lateral shoot growth may occur, slightly slowing down the main stem — a useful feature when creating more compact and bushy plants.

6-BAP also improves plant tolerance to a wide range of environmental stressors, including heat, salinity, soil pH extremes, and drought. In strawberries, foliar application two weeks after the start of vegetation can stimulate rosette division and induce fruiting in new growths during the same season (with a slight delay), boosting yield potential for the following year.

Key Benefits of 6-Benzylaminopurine

  • Stimulates seed germination and increases germination rate

  • Promotes cell division and plant growth

  • Encourages development of lateral shoots, buds, and inflorescences

  • Enhances nutrient attraction by plant cells (attractant effect)

  • Delays leaf senescence and aging

  • Activates chloroplast formation and improves gas exchange by opening stomata

  • Increases leaf cell size, promoting faster growth of young leaves

  • Provides protective effects against adverse environmental conditions

  • Stimulates branching and compact plant structure

  • Improves resistance to diseases, drought, cold, and high salinity

  • Increases flowering and fruit set by reducing flower drop
